Some days... I just don't want to make a social media post. Not because I don't care but because sometimes your mind needs a break. And honestly, I think we all need to get better at recognizing the difference between discipline and burnout.

The same thing happens with:
• Work.
• Working out.
• Parenting.
• Running a business.
• Chasing goals.

Consistency is important. But so is knowing when your body and mind are asking for recovery.

We spend so much time talking about physical health that we sometimes forget mental health is what allows us to keep showing up in the first place. If you've been feeling mentally drained lately, maybe today isn't about pushing harder. Maybe it's about taking a breath, getting outside, calling a friend, getting some sleep, or simply giving yourself permission to recharge.

You don't have to earn rest. The goal isn't to be "on" 100% of the time. It's to stay healthy enough both physically and mentally to keep doing what matters most.

Why Dancers Feel So Different After Recital Weekend

A recital isn't just one performance.

Most dancers spend multiple days rehearsing, performing, standing backstage, changing costumes, and repeating routines multiple times. Add in the emotional excitement, late nights, and altered eating schedules, and it's easy to see why the body feels depleted afterward.

Common complaints after recital weekend include:
Tight calves and hamstrings
Hip soreness
Low back stiffness
Foot and ankle pain
Fatigue and decreased energy
Knee discomfort
Neck and shoulder tension

While some soreness is expected, persistent pain is not.
