At Chardon Performance Therapy, our mission has always been bigger than physical health—we believe in strengthening the whole community. That’s why we are proud to donate space in our clinic to Community Connections, a free therapy group for teens in the Chardon area.
This program is more than just a support group—it’s a creative and therapeutic experience designed to help teens grow in resilience and confidence. Community Connections integrates music and art with mindfulness practices, all guided by DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) principles. Through this unique blend, participants learn practical skills for regulating emotions, reducing stress, and improving communication—all while exploring creative outlets that inspire joy and self-expression.

A key feature of the program is helping teens connect not only with themselves but with others. Community Connections pairs participants with volunteer opportunities, encouraging them to step into the community, build relationships, and make a meaningful impact.
By hosting this group at Chardon Performance Therapy, we are creating space for young people to:
Explore art and music as tools for emotional regulation
Practice mindfulness to build self-awareness and calm
Learn DBT-based skills for managing challenges with confidence
Give back to the community through service and connection
We believe these experiences will equip teens with tools that last a lifetime—strengthening not only their own futures but the fabric of our community.
