Weightlifting, CrossFit, and HYROX Injury Physical Therapy in Chardon, OH
You don't want to stop training. You want to train without pain.
Your back tweaks on deadlifts. Your shoulder hurts on overhead presses or pull-ups. Your knees ache on squats, wall balls, or lunges. You've been told to "stop lifting," but that's not an option for you, and resting hasn't fixed it anyway.
You deserve a provider who understands training and keeps you under the bar.

We know how frustrating this is
Most of our clients come to us after other treatments didn't work. We know how discouraging it is to hurt, feel stuck, and not know who to trust. That's why the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Chardon Performance Therapy start by listening, until we understand your story and your goals.
We've helped thousands of active people regain confidence, strength, and control, even after other treatments didn't work.
Training injuries we treat
Low back pain from deadlifts and squats
Shoulder pain with pressing, pull-ups, and overhead work
Knee pain from squats, lunges, and box jumps
Hip pain and pinching at the bottom of a squat
Elbow and wrist pain from gripping and pulling
Neck and upper back pain
Running and sled injuries from HYROX training
How it works
1. Share your story. Your initial assessment is a 75-minute, one-on-one visit with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We listen to your goals, your history, and what you've already tried, so we understand what truly matters to you.
2. Get a comprehensive care plan. We look at how you move under load, your training program, and your recovery, then test your strength and power with VALD force plates and dynamometry. We explain what's driving your pain in clear, simple language.
3. Work with an accountable guide. Your follow-up sessions are a full hour, one-on-one. We use hands-on care, dry needling, and a modified training plan, so you keep lifting while you recover and return to full training stronger.
What to expect
In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often much sooner. But getting out of pain is only the start. Our custom plans of care average about 3 months, with one goal: keeping you out of pain and performing at your highest potential.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in Ohio?
No. Ohio law lets you see a physical therapist directly, without a referral.
How long are the sessions?
Your initial assessment is 75 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, always one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
How long until my injury feels better?
In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often sooner. Plans of care average about 3 months, so you stay out of pain and come back stronger.
Do you take insurance?
We're out of network with all insurance companies. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and many clients are reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits. We'll walk you through your options on a quick call.
Do I have to stop lifting?
Usually not. We'll modify your training so you can keep working while you recover, then build you back to full loads.
Will you change my technique?
Only if it helps. Often the issue is load, recovery, or a mobility or strength gap, not your form. We'll show you exactly what to change, and why.
Do you work with coaches?
Yes. With your permission, we're happy to coordinate with your coach so your rehab and training work together.
When should I see a doctor instead?
If you felt a pop with sudden weakness, have numbness or weakness in your arms or legs, loss of bladder or bowel control, or dark urine with severe muscle pain after a hard workout, see a physician or go to urgent care right away.
