Volleyball Injury Physical Therapy in Chardon, OH
Volleyball is taking a toll on your body.
Your shoulder aches after hitting and serving. Your knees hurt from jumping and landing. You've rolled an ankle at the net, or your back hurts from digging and diving. You don't want to sit out, and you're tired of the same injury coming back every season.
You deserve care that treats you like an athlete, and a plan that keeps you on the court.

How it works
1. Share your story. Your initial assessment is a 75-minute, one-on-one visit with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We listen to your goals, your history, and what you've already tried, so we understand what truly matters to you.
2. Get a comprehensive care plan. We look at how you jump, land, and swing, test strength and power with VALD force plates and dynamometry, and explain what's driving your pain in clear, simple language.
3. Work with an accountable guide. Your follow-up sessions are a full hour, one-on-one. We use hands-on manual therapy, dry needling, and a strength program built for your life and your sport. We stay invested in your progress and push you toward higher performance, not just symptom relief.
What to expect
In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often much sooner. But getting out of pain is only the start. Our custom plans of care average about 3 months, with one goal: keeping you out of pain and performing at your highest potential.
What our clients say
"I'm a former college volleyball player, and I still play in competitive adult leagues… Instead of treating my knee and back as two separate issues, Dave showed me how they were connected and treated my entire body… Chardon PT has given me the confidence to play competitively again."
Alexis S. ★★★★★
"As a sports performance coach and yoga teacher, I believe that integrated methods of health are essential for both prevention and rehabilitation… This approach not only reassures me as a coach but also gives me confidence to refer my athletes and students."
Kirsten B. ★★★★★
"I've seen such a variety of rehab patients from different sports… come out with great, specific progressive therapy options and exercises versus other PTs that give the same exercises for everyone."

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in Ohio?
No. Ohio law lets you see a physical therapist directly, without a referral.
How long are the sessions?
Your initial assessment is 75 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, always one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
How long until my injury feels better?
In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often sooner. Plans of care average about 3 months, so you stay out of pain and come back stronger.
Do you take insurance?
We're out of network with all insurance companies. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and many clients are reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits. We'll walk you through your options on a quick call.
Do I have to stop playing?
Not always. Many players can keep playing with a few changes while they recover. We'll give you a clear plan for what's safe.
Do you work with adult league players?
Yes. We work with players of all levels, from high school to adult leagues, and build each plan around your season.
When should I see a doctor instead?
If you felt a pop in your knee with fast swelling, can't put weight on your leg, have a finger or joint that looks deformed, or have numbness or weakness in your arm, see a physician right away.
