SI Joint Pain Physical Therapy in Chardon, OH
It hurts right at the back of your pelvis, and it won't let up.
The pain sits on one side, just below your belt line. It flares when you stand on one leg, climb stairs, roll over in bed, or get out of the car. Sitting too long hurts, and so does standing too long. You've been told your SI joint is "out," and you've had it put back, but it never stays.
You deserve more than baseline care. You deserve a provider you can trust, and results that actually last.

We know how frustrating this is
Most of our clients come to us after other treatments didn't work. We know how discouraging it is to hurt, feel stuck, and not know who to trust. That's why the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Chardon Performance Therapy start by listening, until we understand your story and your goals.
We've helped thousands of active people regain confidence, strength, and control, even after other treatments didn't work.
What we help with
SI joint pain on one side of the low back or buttock
Pelvic pain during and after pregnancy
Pain with stairs, single-leg stance, and rolling in bed
SI and low back pain from running, lifting, or golf
Hip and pelvis pain that keeps coming back
Pain that returns after adjustments
How it works
1. Share your story. Your initial assessment is a 75-minute, one-on-one visit with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We listen to your goals, your history, and what you've already tried, so we understand what truly matters to you.
2. Get a comprehensive care plan. SI joint pain often overlaps with the low back and hip, so we test all three to find the true source. We measure hip and core strength with VALD force plates and dynamometry, then explain it in clear, simple language.
3. Work with an accountable guide. Your follow-up sessions are a full hour, one-on-one. We use hands-on care and dry needling to calm pain, then build hip, glute, and core strength so your pelvis stays stable, not just "put back in."
What to expect
In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often much sooner. But getting out of pain is only the start. Our custom plans of care average about 3 months, with one goal: keeping you out of pain and performing at your highest potential.

"They talked to me, figured out the root cause, and taught me how to prevent my back from going out. We talked, stretched, and did dry needling (which I had never done before)."

Don't stay stuck
If you keep getting "adjusted" without building strength, SI pain usually comes back. Let's make it stick.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in Ohio?
No. Ohio law lets you see a physical therapist directly, without a referral.
How long are the sessions?
Your initial assessment is 75 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, always one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
How long until my back feels better?
In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often sooner. Plans of care average about 3 months, so you stay out of pain and come back stronger.
Do you take insurance?
We're out of network with all insurance companies. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and many clients are reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits. We'll walk you through your options on a quick call.
Is my SI joint out of place?
Probably not in the way you've been told. The SI joint moves very little. Pain usually comes from irritation and poor support around it, which strength and control can fix.
Can you help with pelvic pain during pregnancy?
Yes. We can help with SI and pelvic girdle pain during and after pregnancy, and we'll coordinate with your OB or midwife.
When should I see a doctor instead?
If your pain comes with fever, unexplained weight loss, numbness in the groin, loss of bladder or bowel control, or follows a hard fall, see a physician or go to the emergency room right away.
