Post-Surgical Rehab in Chardon, OH
Surgery fixed the structure. Now it's time to rebuild you.
You had surgery to get your life back, but recovery feels slow and confusing. You're stiff, weak, and not sure how hard to push. Maybe your current rehab feels rushed, or you're getting a sheet of exercises and little else.
You deserve more than a cookie-cutter protocol. You deserve one-on-one care that gets you all the way back.

We know how frustrating this is
Most of our clients come to us after other treatments didn't work. We know how discouraging it is to hurt, feel stuck, and not know who to trust. That's why the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Chardon Performance Therapy start by listening, until we understand your story and your goals.
We've helped thousands of active people regain confidence, strength, and control, even after other treatments didn't work.

How it works
1. Share your story. Your initial assessment is a 75-minute, one-on-one visit with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We review your surgery, your surgeon's protocol, and your goals for life after recovery.
2. Get a comprehensive care plan. We follow your surgeon's guidelines and build your plan around your life and your goals, explained in clear, simple language. We track your strength with VALD force plates and dynamometry, so every milestone is based on real numbers.
3. Work with an accountable guide. Your follow-up sessions are a full hour, one-on-one. We use hands-on care, blood flow restriction (BFR) training when it fits, and a progressive strength program, and we keep your surgeon informed along the way.
What to expect
Every surgery and every person recovers on a different timeline. We don't stop when you can walk or lift your arm. We keep going until you're back to the work, sport, and activities you had surgery for, and strong enough to stay there.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in Ohio?
No. Ohio law lets you see a physical therapist directly, without a referral.
How long are the sessions?
Your initial assessment is 75 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, always one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Do you take insurance?
We're out of network with all insurance companies. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and many clients are reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits. We'll walk you through your options on a quick call.
When should I start physical therapy after surgery?
As soon as your surgeon allows, often within the first week or two. Starting with prehab before surgery helps too.
Will you follow my surgeon's protocol?
Yes. We follow your surgeon's guidelines and keep them informed of your progress.
Can I switch to you if I already started PT somewhere else?
Yes. You can choose where you do your rehab. We'll coordinate with your surgeon and pick up right where you are.
When should I see a doctor instead?
Contact your surgeon or go to urgent care right away if you have a fever, increasing redness, warmth, or drainage at your incision, new calf pain and swelling, chest pain, or shortness of breath.
