Plantar Fasciitis and Foot Pain Physical Therapy in Chardon, OH

Your first steps every morning feel like stepping on glass.

Your heel hurts the moment you get out of bed. It loosens up, then comes back after sitting, standing all day, or a run. You've bought new shoes, inserts, and a night splint. It gets a little better, then flares up again.

You deserve more than baseline care. You deserve a provider you can trust, and results that actually last.

We know how frustrating this is

Most of our clients come to us after other treatments didn't work. We know how discouraging it is to hurt, feel stuck, and not know who to trust. That's why the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Chardon Performance Therapy start by listening, until we understand your story and your goals.

We've helped thousands of active people regain confidence, strength, and control, even after other treatments didn't work.

Foot problems we treat

  • Plantar fasciitis and heel pain

  • Arch pain and flat feet

  • Pain in the ball of the foot, including Morton's neuroma

  • Big toe and bunion pain

  • Foot pain from running, standing, or work

  • Foot pain after surgery

How it works

1. Share your story. Your initial assessment is a 75-minute, one-on-one visit with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We listen to your goals, your history, and what you've already tried, so we understand what truly matters to you.

2. Get a comprehensive care plan. Heel pain often comes from weak calves and feet, stiff ankles, footwear, or a sudden jump in activity, so we look at how your whole leg moves. We explain it in clear, simple language and track your strength in real numbers.

3. Work with an accountable guide. Your follow-up sessions are a full hour, one-on-one. We use hands-on care, dry needling, footwear guidance, and a foot and calf strengthening program, so you can be on your feet again without pain.

What to expect

In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often much sooner. But getting out of pain is only the start. Our custom plans of care average about 3 months, with one goal: keeping you out of pain and performing at your highest potential.

What our clients say

"I've been running for about 8 years and have always struggled with injuries like PF and sore Achilles heels. Seeing Courtney was a game changer as she not only helped improve my form, she taught very unique and helpful exercises to correct certain weaknesses too. I am now running with less pain."
Sharon V. ★★★★★

"I worked with different therapists during my course of PT. While they all had a unique approach, I felt that each one brought the consistent treatment my ankle and neck needed."
Katy O. ★★★★★

"I had been to 6 different healthcare providers for leg/knee pain with minimal relief. Dave was the first that has been able to help relieve my pain, and he did that just after the first appointment."

Don't stay stuck

If you wait, heel pain can drag on for months and change the way you walk, which often leads to knee, hip, and back pain too. You don't have to accept that.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in Ohio?
No. Ohio law lets you see a physical therapist directly, without a referral.

How long are the sessions?
Your initial assessment is 75 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, always one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

How long until my foot feels better?
In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often sooner. Plans of care average about 3 months, so you stay out of pain and come back stronger.

Do you take insurance?
We're out of network with all insurance companies. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and many clients are reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits. We'll walk you through your options on a quick call.

Do I need orthotics?
Sometimes, but not always. Many people get better with the right exercises and footwear alone. We'll tell you honestly if an insert would help.

Should I stop running or walking?
Not always. Most people can stay active with a few changes while their foot recovers. We'll show you what's safe now and build you back up.

When should I see a doctor instead?
If you can't put weight on your foot after an injury, your foot is red, hot, and swollen, you have a fever, numbness that's getting worse, or a wound on your foot (especially if you have diabetes), see a physician or go to urgent care right away.
