Pickleball Injury Physical Therapy in Chardon, OH
You love pickleball. Your body isn't keeping up.
You're playing more than ever, and now your elbow aches, your shoulder is sore, or your knees and back complain after every match. Maybe you tweaked a calf lunging for a dink. You've rested and iced, but every time you get back on the court, it flares up.
You deserve to keep playing the game you love. You deserve a provider who wants to keep you on the court.

We know how frustrating this is
Most of our clients come to us after other treatments didn't work. We know how discouraging it is to hurt, feel stuck, and not know who to trust. That's why the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Chardon Performance Therapy start by listening, until we understand your story and your goals.
We've helped thousands of active people regain confidence, strength, and control, even after other treatments didn't work.
Pickleball injuries we treat
Pickleball elbow (tennis elbow and golfer's elbow)
Shoulder and rotator cuff pain
Calf strains and Achilles pain
Ankle sprains
Knee pain
Low back pain from bending and twisting
Wrist injuries from falls
How it works
1. Share your story. Your initial assessment is a 75-minute, one-on-one visit with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We listen to your goals, your history, and what you've already tried, so we understand what truly matters to you.
2. Get a comprehensive care plan. We look at how you move on the court: lunging, bending, reaching, and swinging. We test your strength and balance with VALD force plates and dynamometry, then explain what's driving your pain in clear, simple language.
3. Work with an accountable guide. Your follow-up sessions are a full hour, one-on-one. We use hands-on care, dry needling, and a strength and balance program built for pickleball, so you play with less pain and less risk of the next injury.
What to expect
In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often much sooner. But getting out of pain is only the start. Our custom plans of care average about 3 months, with one goal: keeping you out of pain and performing at your highest potential.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in Ohio?
No. Ohio law lets you see a physical therapist directly, without a referral.
How long are the sessions?
Your initial assessment is 75 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, always one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Do you take insurance?
We're out of network with all insurance companies. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and many clients are reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits. We'll walk you through your options on a quick call.
Do I have to stop playing?
Not always. Many players can keep playing with a few changes while they recover. We'll give you a clear plan for what's safe.
Can you help me prevent injuries?
Yes. Strength, balance, and a smart warm-up go a long way. Many players come to us to stay healthy and play more, not just to fix an injury.
Is it too late to start strength training?
Never. Strength training helps at any age and is one of the best ways to protect your joints, muscles, and balance.
When should I see a doctor instead?
If you felt a pop in your calf or heel and can't push off, can't put weight on your leg, hit your head in a fall, or have a joint that looks deformed, see a physician or go to urgent care right away.
