Neck Pain Physical Therapy in Chardon, OH
Your neck hurts, and it's taking over your day.
It's stiff when you wake up and worse by the end of the workday. Turning to check your blind spot hurts. Maybe it comes with headaches, or pain and tingling down your arm. You've tried stretching, massage, the chiropractor, maybe a new pillow. It eases for a few days, then it's right back.
You deserve more than baseline care. You deserve a provider you can trust, and results that actually last.

We know how frustrating this is
Most of our clients come to us after other treatments didn't work. We know how discouraging it is to hurt, feel stuck, and not know who to trust. That's why the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Chardon Performance Therapy start by listening, until we understand your story and your goals.
We've helped thousands of active people regain confidence, strength, and control, even after other treatments didn't work.

How it works
1. Share your story. Your initial assessment is a 75-minute, one-on-one visit with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We listen to your goals, your history, and what you've already tried, so we understand what truly matters to you.
2. Get a comprehensive care plan. We assess what's happening, why it's happening, and exactly what it will take to fix it, explained in clear, simple language. Neck pain is often driven by the upper back, shoulder blades, and how you sit, train, and sleep, so we look at the whole picture. We measure your neck and shoulder strength with dynamometry, so your progress is tracked in real numbers, not guesses.
3. Work with an accountable guide. Your follow-up sessions are a full hour, one-on-one. We use hands-on manual therapy, dry needling, and a strength program built for your life and your sport. We stay invested in your progress and push you toward higher performance, not just symptom relief.
What to expect
In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often much sooner. But getting out of pain is only the start. Our custom plans of care average about 3 months, with one goal: keeping you out of pain and performing at your highest potential.
What our clients say
"I recently pinched nerves in my neck, something that brought my fairly active lifestyle to an abrupt halt… From that very first session I had relief from the pain. I've been to many chiropractors and therapists before… Working with CPT and Dave has been the complete opposite experience."
Chuck K. ★★★★★
"I have multiple pinched nerves in my neck due to severe disc degeneration, and my surgeon ultimately advised against surgery… Thanks to the CPT team, I now have almost zero pain and numbness."
Bret M. ★★★★★
"I tweaked my neck to the point where I could barely move… Within a week of working with her, I was able to work out again and now just a few weeks later, I feel better than I did even before my injury!"

Don't stay stuck
If you wait, neck pain tends to spread: into headaches, into your shoulders, into how you sleep, work, and train. You lose time, momentum, and the activities that make life meaningful. You don't have to accept that.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in Ohio?
No. Ohio law lets you see a physical therapist directly, without a referral.
How long are the sessions?
Your initial assessment is 75 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, always one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
How long until my neck feels better?
In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often sooner. Plans of care average about 3 months, so you stay out of pain and come back stronger.
Do you take insurance?
We're out of network with all insurance companies. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and many clients are reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits. We'll walk you through your options on a quick call.
Can physical therapy help my headaches?
Often, yes. Many headaches are driven by tight, weak, or irritated muscles and joints in the neck and upper back. We'll find out if that's part of your picture and treat it directly.
Do you crack necks?
Hands-on care is part of what we do, but it's never the whole plan. Lasting relief comes from building strength and control in your neck and upper back, so the pain doesn't keep coming back.
When should I see a doctor instead?
If neck pain follows a serious fall or accident, or comes with weakness in your arms or legs, trouble walking or with balance, loss of bladder or bowel control, a fever, or a sudden severe headache unlike any you've had, see a physician or go to urgent care right away.
