Low Back Pain Physical Therapy in Chardon, OH

Your back hurts, and the help you've tried hasn't fixed it.

You've rested it. Stretched it. Maybe you've seen a chiropractor, tried another PT clinic, or been handed a sheet of exercises and sent home. The pain eases for a while, then it's back. Meanwhile, you're skipping workouts, sitting out rounds of golf, and wondering if your body will ever let you do what you love again.

You deserve more than baseline care. You deserve a provider you can trust, and results that actually last.

We know how frustrating this is

Most of our clients come to us after other treatments didn't work. We know how discouraging it is to hurt, feel stuck, and not know who to trust. That's why the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Chardon Performance Therapy start by listening, until we understand your story and your goals.

We've helped thousands of active people regain confidence, strength, and control, even after other treatments didn't work.

Back problems we treat

  • Low back pain and stiffness

  • Sciatica and pinched nerves

  • Herniated and bulging discs

  • SI joint pain

  • Back pain from lifting, golf, running, or sport

  • Back pain that hasn't improved with other care

How it works

1. Share your story. Your initial assessment is a 75-minute, one-on-one visit with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We listen to your goals, your history, and what you've already tried, so we understand what truly matters to you.

2. Get a comprehensive care plan. We assess what's happening, why it's happening, and exactly what it will take to fix it, explained in clear, simple language. We measure your strength and movement with VALD force plates and dynamometry, so your progress is tracked in real numbers, not guesses.

3. Work with an accountable guide. Your follow-up sessions are a full hour, one-on-one. We use hands-on manual therapy, dry needling, and a strength program built for your life and your sport. We stay invested in your progress and push you toward higher performance, not just symptom relief.

What to expect

In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often much sooner. But getting out of pain is only the start. Our custom plans of care average about 3 months, with one goal: keeping you out of pain and performing at your highest potential.

What our clients say

"With over ten years of back pain and a recent flair up Brad at CPT has drastically gotten me out of pain but more importantly taught me what I need to do to stay out of pain. Going to chiropractic and pt all over for 10+ years, CPT is like no other."
Pat S. ★★★★★

"I had been having issues with my back for YEARS… now I can finally get up in the morning and work throughout the day without any back pain!"
Jim M. ★★★★★

"I went from a very active athlete to someone who could hardly manage changing my own laundry, unloading my dishwasher… Chardon PT has allowed me to get back on my feet and slowly revisit the activities that I've been missing for two years."
Timothy L. ★★★★★

Don't stay stuck

If you wait, you risk more of the same: pain, a quick fix, then pain again. You lose time, momentum, and the activities that make life meaningful. You don't have to accept that.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in Ohio?
No. Ohio law lets you see a physical therapist directly, without a referral.

How long are the sessions?
Your initial assessment is 75 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, always one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

How long until my back feels better?
In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often sooner. Plans of care average about 3 months, so you stay out of pain and come back stronger.

Do you take insurance?
We accept HSA and FSA cards, and many clients are reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits. We'll walk you through your options on a quick call.

Should I rest my back or keep moving?
For most back pain, the right kind of movement speeds recovery, and total rest slows it down. We'll show you what's safe to do right away.

When should I see a doctor instead?
If you have numbness in the groin area, loss of bladder or bowel control, unexplained weight loss, or pain after a serious fall or accident, see a physician or go to urgent care right away.
