Physical Therapy for Law Enforcement and Tactical Athletes in Chardon, OH
Your job demands a body that's ready. Every shift.
Long shifts in a cruiser. A heavy duty belt and vest. Sudden sprints, takedowns, and lifting after hours of sitting. Your back, hips, knees, and shoulders take a beating, and you can't afford to be on light duty or out of the job.
You deserve care built for the demands of your job, from a provider who understands them.

We know what's at stake
Pain on the job isn't just uncomfortable. It affects your safety, your partners, and your career. That's why the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Chardon Performance Therapy start by listening to the demands of your job and your goals.
We've helped thousands of active people regain confidence, strength, and control, even after other treatments didn't work.
What we help with
Low back pain from duty belts, vests, and long hours in a vehicle
Hip, knee, and shoulder injuries from training and the job
Neck pain and stiffness
Strength, speed, and conditioning for physical fitness tests
Returning to full duty after injury or surgery
Injury prevention for officers, firefighters, EMS, and military
How it works
1. Share your story. Your initial assessment is a 75-minute, one-on-one visit with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We listen to your goals, your history, and what you've already tried, so we understand what truly matters to you.
2. Get a comprehensive care plan. We look at how your gear, shifts, and job tasks affect your body, then explain what's going on in clear, simple language. We measure strength, power, and speed with VALD force plates, dynamometry, and speed gates, so your readiness is tracked in real numbers.
3. Work with an accountable guide. Your follow-up sessions are a full hour, one-on-one. We use hands-on care, dry needling, and a strength program built for the job, scheduled around your shifts whenever we can.
What to expect
In most cases, pain is gone within the first month, and often much sooner. But getting out of pain is only the start. Our custom plans of care average about 3 months, with one goal: keeping you out of pain and performing at your highest potential.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in Ohio?
No. Ohio law lets you see a physical therapist directly, without a referral.
How long are the sessions?
Your initial assessment is 75 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, always one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Do you take insurance?
We're out of network with all insurance companies. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and many clients are reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits. We'll walk you through your options on a quick call.
Can you schedule around my shifts?
We'll do our best. Our clinic opens at 7 AM Monday through Thursday, and we'll work with you to find times that fit your rotation.
Can you work with my department?
We'd love to talk. Book a call and tell us what your department or team needs, whether that's injury prevention, fitness testing, or education.
Can you help me prepare for a fitness test?
Yes. We'll test where you are now and build a training plan to help you meet your standard safely.
When should I see a doctor instead?
If your pain follows a serious injury on the job, or comes with numbness, weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, chest pain, or shortness of breath, see a physician or go to urgent care right away.
