Kart Racing and Motorsport Driver Performance Training in Chardon, OH
Your body is part of your race car. Train it like it.
By the end of a session your neck is fried, your forearms are burning, and your back aches from the seat. Your lap times fade late in the race, not because of the kart, but because your body can't hold on. Generic gym workouts don't prepare you for the forces of racing.
You deserve training built for what racing actually demands, from a provider who understands drivers.

We know what's at stake
Racing puts unique stress on the neck, grip, core, and back, and most programs ignore it. That's why the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Chardon Performance Therapy start by learning your series, your schedule, and your goals.
We've helped thousands of active people, including young athletes from across Geauga and Lake County, regain confidence, strength, and control.
What we help drivers with
Neck strength and endurance for G-forces
Grip, forearm, and steering endurance
Core and anti-rotation strength
Low back and rib pain from the seat and vibration
Shoulder and upper back endurance
Reaction time, balance, and coordination
Recovery from crashes and injuries
How it works
1. Share your story. We start with a one-on-one assessment with a Doctor of Physical Therapy to learn your racing, your season, and any aches or injuries.
2. Get a comprehensive plan. We test neck, grip, and full-body strength with dynamometry and VALD force plates, then explain your strengths and weak links in clear, simple language.
3. Train with an accountable guide. We build a driver-specific program for neck, grip, core, and endurance, and adjust it around your race calendar so you peak when it counts.
Built for drivers
Our driver programs include neck isometrics, steering endurance work, grip and forearm training, anti-rotation core strength, and single-leg and balance work. See examples on our YouTube channel below.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in Ohio?
No. Ohio law lets you see a physical therapist directly, without a referral.
Do you take insurance?
We're out of network with all insurance companies. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and many clients are reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits. We'll walk you through your options on a quick call.
Is this only for injured drivers?
No. Many drivers train with us to get stronger, last longer in the seat, and stay healthy across a full season.
What age drivers do you work with?
We work with young drivers and adults. Programs are built around each driver's age, size, and experience.
Can you work around my race schedule?
Yes. We plan your training around your race calendar so you're fresh and strong on race weekends.
When should I see a doctor instead?
After a crash, see a physician right away if you have a headache, confusion, neck pain with numbness or weakness, chest pain, or trouble breathing.
