Football Injury Physical Therapy in Chardon, OH
You got hurt on the field, and the season is moving without you.
A hamstring grabbed on a sprint. Your ankle rolled on a cut. Your shoulder took a hit, or your back aches after every practice. The trainer says rest, but you want to know exactly what's wrong, how long it will take, and what it will take to get back on the field.
You deserve a clear plan, honest timelines, and a provider who wants you back on the field.

We know how frustrating this is
Most of our clients come to us after other treatments didn't work. We know how discouraging it is to hurt, feel stuck, and not know who to trust. That's why the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Chardon Performance Therapy start by listening, until we understand your story and your goals.
We've helped thousands of active people regain confidence, strength, and control, even after other treatments didn't work.
Football injuries we treat
Hamstring and groin strains
Ankle sprains and high ankle sprains

Return to play after injury or surgery
How it works
1. Share your story. We learn your position, your season, your training, and your injury, along with what you and your family want from this season.
2. Get a comprehensive care plan. We test strength, power, and speed with VALD force plates and dynamometry, and explain what's injured and what it will take to get back in clear, simple language.
3. Work with an accountable guide. Your follow-up sessions are a full hour, one-on-one. We use hands-on care, dry needling, blood flow restriction (BFR) training when it fits, and a step-by-step return to play plan.
Return to play based on numbers
We don't clear you based on a date on the calendar. We test your strength, power, and speed and compare sides, so you go back when your body is ready. With your permission, we keep your coaches and family informed along the way.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in Ohio?
No. Ohio law lets you see a physical therapist directly, without a referral.
How long are the sessions?
Your initial assessment is 75 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, always one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Do you take insurance?
We're out of network with all insurance companies. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and many clients are reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits. We'll walk you through your options on a quick call.
Can you work with my athletic trainer and coach?
Yes. With your permission, we're happy to share progress and a return to play plan with your athletic trainer and coaches.
Can I keep lifting while I recover?
Usually, yes. We'll modify your training so you stay strong while the injury heals.
When should I see a doctor instead?
After a hit, see a physician or go to the emergency room right away for a headache, confusion, or other concussion signs, neck pain with numbness or weakness, a joint that looks deformed, or if you can't put weight on your leg.
