Dizziness and Vertigo Physical Therapy in Chardon, OH

The room spins, and you don't trust your balance anymore.

You roll over in bed and the room spins. Looking up or bending down makes you dizzy. You feel off balance in busy stores, walk closer to the wall, and worry about falling. Maybe it started after a head injury, or maybe out of nowhere. You've been told to wait it out or given medicine that just makes you sleepy.

You deserve real answers, and a plan that gets you steady and confident again.

We know how frustrating this is

Most of our clients come to us after other treatments didn't work. We know how discouraging it is to hurt, feel stuck, and not know who to trust. That's why the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Chardon Performance Therapy start by listening, until we understand your story and your goals.

We've helped thousands of active people regain confidence, strength, and control, even after other treatments didn't work.

Dizziness we treat

  • BPPV (vertigo when you roll over, look up, or bend down)

  • Inner ear (vestibular) problems and vestibular rehab

  • Dizziness that comes from the neck

  • Dizziness after a concussion

  • Poor balance and fear of falling

  • Motion sensitivity in busy places, screens, or cars

  • Dizziness with neck pain and headaches

How it works

1. Share your story. Your initial assessment is a 75-minute, one-on-one visit with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We listen to your goals, your history, and what you've already tried, so we understand what truly matters to you.

2. Get a comprehensive care plan. Dizziness has many causes, so we test your inner ear, eye movements, neck, and balance to find yours. Then we explain what's going on in clear, simple language.

3. Work with an accountable guide. Your follow-up sessions are a full hour, one-on-one. Depending on the cause, we use repositioning maneuvers like the Epley for BPPV, vestibular and balance exercises, and hands-on care for the neck, then progress you back to the activities you love.

Good news about vertigo

BPPV is the most common cause of vertigo, and it often improves within one to a few visits with the right repositioning maneuver. For other inner ear problems, research strongly supports vestibular rehab exercises. And when dizziness comes from the neck or a concussion, treating the neck and retraining balance can make a big difference.

Don't stay stuck

If you wait, dizziness often leads to moving less, losing balance, and fearing a fall. Many causes are very treatable. Let's find yours.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a doctor's referral for physical therapy in Ohio?
No. Ohio law lets you see a physical therapist directly, without a referral.

How long are the sessions?
Your initial assessment is 75 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, always one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Do you take insurance?
We're out of network with all insurance companies. We accept HSA and FSA cards, and many clients are reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits. We'll walk you through your options on a quick call.

What is BPPV?
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo happens when tiny crystals in the inner ear move where they don't belong. It causes short spins of vertigo with certain head movements, and it often responds quickly to repositioning maneuvers.

Can my neck make me dizzy?
Yes. Neck injuries, whiplash, and neck tension can cause dizziness and unsteadiness. We test for it and treat the neck directly when it's part of the problem.

Should I just take medicine for my dizziness?
Medicine can help for a short time, but long-term use can slow your brain's ability to adapt. Vestibular rehab helps your balance system recover. Talk with your physician about your medications.

When should I see a doctor instead?
Call 911 for dizziness with face drooping, arm or leg weakness, slurred speech, double vision, trouble walking, a sudden severe headache, chest pain, or fainting. See a physician soon for sudden hearing loss or dizziness that doesn't stop.
